Freak/The modern man
There comes a point in life where you learn to accept changes more than accepting yourself. Other people's lives start becoming more important than yours. You finally feel like there is a weight on your chest and now you have responsibilities. You compare all your careless fun days to the hectic and rather monotonous schedule that you are bound to follow now. The feeling of excitement reduces and your life becomes rather basic than adventurous. We are at a constant war between ourselves and society's views, and the worst part is that the more we grow, the more harsh societies' self-established rules get. It is tough to make a living on your own because of how the modern-day man functions. Competition or rather to be quoted as, "a never-ending rat race" is what each and every one of us is involved in. Honestly think about this once in a while you self-proclaimed geniuses, think about how greedy for self-esteem you have become, how much the hunger for appreciation in your hearts has destroyed the concept of fun in you.
We fear someone superior to us and then we talk about how we make our own decisions. We are freaks, begging on our knees for attention, love, and for care. Now do not get me wrong here I am the same, I am just as big of a freak as every single one of us. We are such perfect actors, we live in expensive houses. But, behind the closed doors of the luxurious homes, we take our masks off and look in the mirror, thinking about how can we pretend tomorrow that everything is fine, how we can stand out in society and make ourselves achieve more than someone else. Competition kills us, the urge to be better than someone else kills us, and the continuous effort to satisfy ourselves as respectable citizens kill us. You sit on your comfortable chair and wonder how many people would attend your funeral, how would it be decorated, who would be crying the most but have you ever thought that it does not matter, you close your eyes and you are gone, sad truth always hits hard, I am aware. But what is true cannot remain unsaid, you want a mansion because John has a mansion, John wanted a mansion because Eric bought a mansion, and trust me this cycle never stops. We have been like this since we came in touch with humanity and we welcomed jealousy, curiosity, and animosity.
The truth is unsettling but yet so accurate. The voices in our heads have turned us into machines who produce humans who come in contact with other machines and end up living the same horrible way we did. Money is the fuel and a round of applause is an achievement. Well done, proud of what we have achieved, pat yourselves on the back. The concept of a well-settled life is so far-fetched because we are never settled. We create medication so that the human race survives, we think that all of this would never end, humanity shall live forever. Earth has 7.8 Billion people on it, I hope you remember that anything excess is poison.
